Dr. Flores-Wilson

Dr. Kim Flores-Wilson brings a uniquely well-rounded perspective to her dental practice, combining a deep understanding of human psychology with a rigorous scientific background. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Marquette University, following a Master’s degree in Physiology with a concentration in Biochemistry from the University of Louisville, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Chemistry from Loyola New Orleans.

Before pursuing dentistry, Dr. Kim spent time working as a psychometrist and an analytical scientist. This diverse background profoundly shapes her empathetic approach to care, particularly her passion for helping patients manage dental anxiety. She understands that the dental chair can be intimidating, and she utilizes her unique skill set to create a calming, judgment-free environment where patients feel genuinely heard and comfortable.

Dr. Kim began her clinical career taking on the responsibility of a solo dental practitioner in the Northwoods. After the birth of her son, she relocated back to Madison to plant roots for her growing family. She is a proud member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and remains deeply enthusiastic about her profession. She loves discussing all things dentistry and is dedicated to lifelong learning, frequently expanding her clinical knowledge through continuing education and staying current with the latest dental literature.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Kim is a dedicated foodie who loves cooking and exploring new culinary experiences. She stays active by swimming and enjoys spending her downtime relaxing with her partner, their two children, and their three cats.

Dr. To-Schwalbach

Dr. To-Schwalbach attended the University of MN, Twin Cities, and earned a B.S. Biology degree in 1999 and a D.D.S. degree in 2003. She served three years as an active duty dentist in the United States Air Force, where she obtained additional training in a 1-year advanced education in a general dentistry residency program.

Professional growth and development have always been important to Dr. To-Schwalbach’s clinical success. She has completed over 420 total hours of continuing education, including a 100-hour course on Contemporary & Esthetic Dentistry at the University of MN in 2015. Most importantly, Dr. To-Schwalbach believes in treating her patients with care, compassion and helping them achieve a healthy and happy smile.

She has three school-aged children and enjoys running, biking, and spending time with her family during her free time.

Dr. Kirkpatrick

Dr. Kirkpatrick has completed over 1200 hours of continuing education, including three years at the Center for Advanced Dental Education. He studied comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for cosmetic dentistry, bite and jaw disorders (TMD), and complete dentistry. He is also a member of Omikron Kappa Upsilon Delta Honor Fraternity.

A family man, Dr. Kirkpatrick, has been married to Kim (who also is a part of the DCD team) since 1984. They are the proud parents of two sons, Ian and Sean. He is an avid Badger, Packer, Brewer, and Bucks fan and enjoys travel and the outdoors. Dr. Kirkpatrick and Door Creek Dental often participate in charitable endeavors such as mission trips in Guatemala, Give Kids a Smile, Mission of Mercy, and other philanthropic dental events.

Dr. Scott Kirkpatrick was born in the “flatland” of Illinois. Growing up in the Elgin area, he and his family often vacationed in Wisconsin, and that is how he developed his desire to become a “Cheese Head.” His college career consisted of a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1981. He later received his D.M.D from the School of Dental Medicine at SIU Edwardsville in 1990. After completing a General Practice Residency at the V.A. Hospital in Milwaukee, Dr. Kirkpatrick practiced general dentistry in Janesville for three years. He then joined Dr. Paul Appel on the east side of Madison in 1994 and took over the practice upon Dr. Appel’s retirement in 1997. Dr. Kirkpatrick had officially become a “Cheese Head.”
