Dr. Scott Kirkpatrick was born in the “flatland” of Illinois. Growing up in the Elgin area, he and his family often vacationed in Wisconsin, and that is how he developed his desire to become a “Cheese Head.” His college career consisted of a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1981. He later received his D.M.D from the School of Dental Medicine at SIU Edwardsville in 1990. After completing a General Practice Residency at the V.A. Hospital in Milwaukee, Dr. Kirkpatrick practiced general dentistry in Janesville for three years. He then joined Dr. Paul Appel on the east side of Madison in 1994 and took over the practice upon Dr. Appel’s retirement in 1997. Dr. Kirkpatrick had officially become a “Cheese Head.”
