Our Return to Guatemala

At the end of October, 2009 we returned back to Sumango, Guatemala in an effort to assist Los Olivos again by setting up a week long dental clinic.

Dr K & Krysta lending a helping hand

Our team was comprised of three dentists, two hygienists and a medical group that served as awesome dental assistants. We treated over 250 patients for prevention, fillings and extractions. The team meshed very well and the week went so smoothly.

Krysta & Daughter

As before, it was a very rewarding experience and a good reminder of how lucky we are here to have preventative dentistry. The dental need is so great there, it’s difficult to take in unless you choose to just see each person as an individual. Although the Guatemalans are thankful for us, we feel that we receive the bigger blessing through the entire experience of their culture, gratitude and example of kindness, family and compassion for their people.

A rewarding experience!

Thank you for your interest.

Congrats McKenna K!

Congrats to McKenna K for winning the $25 Barnes & Noble gift card that we gave away in conjunction with the Halloween candy buy back. Her name was drawn from all of the children that traded in their candy. This is our first year offering the candy buy back, so we are very happy to report that we collected 50 pounds of candy and donated it to Project H.O.M.E. (Help Our Military Every Day). Karen Schilling and Judy Anderson of Project H.O.M.E. have sent over 4500 care packages and over 8700 birthday cards to American troops in the Middle East. Want to help Project H.O.M.E.? Contact Karen at karens51@ameritech.net. Thanks to everyone that partipated in our candy buy back and made it such a great success!
